 Law Enforcement
The Center completed a video showing different ways that law enforcement agencies can work with schools to improve school safety. There is no charge for the video and it can be obtained by calling the Center’s toll-free number.

State law (KRS 158.154) requires schools to report specified offenses committed on school property to the local law enforcement agencies. Immediate notification must be provided to police departments when a principal has reasonable belief that an act has occurred on school property or at school-sponsored function involving assault resulting in serious physical injury, a sexual offense, kidnapping, assault involving use of weapons, possession of firearms in violation of a law or possession of controlled substance in violation of law, or damage to property. School property is defined as any public school building, bus, public school campus, grounds, recreational area, or athletic field, in the charge of the principal.
